A workshop for passionate women who desire to serve
their clients with excellence by creating beautiful,
authentic film photographs that celebrate the
natural elegance of a wedding day.

— enter —

Join us for three full days nestled in the mountains of Virginia as we dive deep into the intricacies of living as artists, photographers, and business owners.

This workshop is for women who desire to serve their clients with excellence while using the luminous medium of film photography to elegantly tell their story. Whether you’re new to film or have been working with this magical medium for years, we believe this workshop will give you the confidence to fully trust your own artistry and to create stunning, heirloom-quality photographs, for both yourself and your clients.

Equally as important, this workshop is for women who don’t just desire to do their job, but instead desire to build a systematized, life-giving business that fuels their artistry and creates space for a beautifully-lived life. We will have amazing speakers and stunning styled shoots, but even more than that, we will be challenging you to do something more: to wrestle with every aspect of both your business and photography, and to change and grow for the better.

At the end of our time together, you will leave well-equipped and inspired.
We are so excited to see who joins us on this beautiful journey, and cannot wait to meet you!

Michelle Boyd

Michelle is an internationally-acclaimed wedding photographer whose tender heart beats for intimate, outdoor weddings steeped in elegance and authenticity. She believes that sweet love, golden light, gentle direction, and a lot of kind confidence all go hand in hand with creating a photograph that will stand the test of time.

She is crazy passionate about shooting film. The depth of light and color, the dreamy softness and tack sharp detail, and the tangibility of every frame- each photograph becomes precious. And she has an equal passion for serving each of her clients with the most thoughtful and curated experience from start to finish.

Before her life as a wedding photographer, Michelle was a dancer and dance teacher. A few years into photographing weddings, she realized something was missing. She was learning so much and producing so much work, but was just bursting to the rim with knowledge and fullness that deserved to be shared with others. Her passion for teaching has been a lifelong overflow of her heart, and the joy she has from running her business has become even greater since sharing her knowledge and stories with others.

Michelle is is married to the man of her dreams, and is a very proud goldendoodle-mom. She has a silly obsession with blankets, loves a chilled glass of rosé, and cherishes tight hugs that last too long.

Styled Shoots

We believe the best kind of learning happens with hands-on practice and breathtaking inspiration, so we have three stunning styled shoots planned for our attendees to photograph! Two will be styled as weddings, and the third an intimate lifestyle session. Attendees will be given lots of demonstration by Michelle on how to direct a bride, groom, and couple, as well as how to approach each important detail such as the tablescape, jewelry, paper suite, and more. Attendees will be broken up into smaller groups and given lots of time to create their own beautiful photographs!

After Michelle’s feature is shared on Wedding Sparrow following the workshop, attendees will be free to submit and share all of their photographs to the blog of their choice, as well as to use them in their portfolios.
